Hi! It’s Lincy (left) and Carolina (right) here. We had another amazing day!
Upon waking, we had breakfast, packed our lunch, and set off on a hike towards the volcano.

When we arrived, we took a pickup truck to the base of the volcano to begin our expedition.
We started the climb to a viewpoint where we took the opportunity to rest and enjoy the beautiful view.

After regaining our energy, we continued our trek until we reached the Chicabal lagoon. The experience was very pleasant and full of special moments.
Upon arriving, we began to walk around the lagoon to appreciate it from all angles. Halfway through the walk, we stopped for lunch and a reflection lead by Pastor Mardo. We chatted, laughed, and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the place. Then we continued walking around the lagoon, and upon completing the circuit, we began the return journey to our starting point.

Later, we visited a place where an 82 year old woman makes artisanal chocolate by hand. We were able to observe part of the process, saw some very beautiful horses, and bought chocolate.

Afterward, we stopped for ice cream, which we thoroughly enjoyed – thank you Cathy Higgins!

Then we went to dinner. We had a barbecue and even helped cook at Julia’s restaurant.

There, we watched the Central American Club Futbol Championship final between Xelajú of Guatemala (our favorite team!) and Alajuelense of Costa Rica. Sadly, we lost on the last penalty kick.
After the game, we went back to the retreat center and didn’t get to bed until after 11:00. It was a long but amazing day, full of activities, learning, and memorable moments. We hope tomorrow will be even better!
